USA: Capt. Ron Johnson confirms police officer shot in Ferguson

Protesters gathered on the streets of Ferguson following reports that a police officer had been shot on Saturday. The officer was reportedly wounded but not killed.

A heavy police presence surrounded the protesters who had gathered on the corner of West Florissant Avenue and Stein Road. Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson and Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson were at the scene. Johnson spoke to the crowd, saying “a police officer been shot tonight, that’s the only person that got shot”.
